David Hill is a New Zealander who writes YA fiction. He has published over 30 novels and received many world-wide awards: Take it Easy won a Notable Children’s Book Award in the USA; See Ya, Simon won The NES Times Educational Award in the UK, and The Silver Feather Award in Germany. Coming Back won two awards in France. His short stories have been published in anthologies by Puffin, Random House, Harper Collins and Tandem Press, and in Australian and American magazines. He also writes fiction and non-fiction for adults.

Hill’s works have been translated into French, German, Danish, Dutch, Chinese, Slovenian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. He will be talking about how he came to write for children, and he will be reading from his work
