At the time of writing this flyer, the landmark publication of the Collected Fiction of Katherine Mansfield, edited by Gerri Kimber and Vincent O’Sullivan, is being launched in New Zealand by Edinburgh University Press. This collection includes previously uncollected stories, as well as new fragments and variants.
Gerri tells us that “It’s been an exciting journey and only this week I’ve discovered new KM material that the Turnbull didn’t know it had with ensuing media attention”. Gerri’s enthusiasm for Mansfield and this project will be the focus of her talk.
The production of the publication was made possible in part by a grant awarded to Gerri by the NZUGA so that she could travel to New Zealand to do much of her research at the Alexander Turnbull library, and consult in person with co-editor Vincent O’Sullivan. We are thrilled that the project has been such a success.
The talk will follow an informal supper and admittance is at a charge of £20 per person. There will be a cash bar for liquid refreshment.
‘Creating the Edinburgh Edition of the Collected Works of Katherine Mansfield’ with Dr Gerri Kimber, University of Northampton, Senior Lecturer (English) takes place in the Penthouse Suite of New Zealand House, Haymarket, London SW1Y 4TQ on Friday 8 March 2013 from 6:15pm.
